Carole Collaud began learning the German flute in Geneva. After a year in Germany, with Sabine Bleier in Hanover, she returned to her home canton for classes with Janek Rosset at the Fribourg Conservatory. In 1998, she obtained her teaching certificate with Pierre Wavre at the Conservatory at Lausanne, and in 2001, achieved flute virtuosity.

She has played with several orchestras, including the Youth Orchestra of Fribourg, the Chamber Orchestra of Villars-sur-Glane, the full Orchestra of Villars-sur-Glane, and the State Orchestra of Carolina of Heidelberg in Germany.

Since 1999, Carole Collaud has been regularly invited as soloist by the Orchestra of the City of Fribourg, and by the University of Fribourg, to present various concert works, including those of Mozart, Carl Phillipe Emmanuel Bach, and the piccolo works of Vivaldi.

She spent 2003 in North America with flute masters Sandra Kipp of Los Angeles and Camille Churchfield of Vancouver, completing her stay with an invitation to attend the International Orchestra Camp held in Palm Springs, California.

On her return to Europe, she played concerts in Istanbul, Turkey with pianist Jean-Claude Denervaud, and then toured the Fribourg region with Gregor Camenzind.

Carole Collaud excels in chamber music recitals, whether duets or trios, with musicians playing guitar, harp, harpsichord or piano, and instructs for flute and voice exercises in several music schools in the Canton of Fribourg.

For the last three years, Carole has spent her summers in Vancouver, Canada working with Canadian musicians, chamber music ensembles and the Music Hall Orchestra.
